Each year, Chevron Federal Credit Union awards twelve $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate strong academic achievement and leadership in their communities.
To apply for a scholarship, please review the requirements below.
Eligibility
To apply, you (the student) must:
- Be a Chevron Federal Credit Union member with all accounts in good standing (If you are not a member, please complete an online membership application or visit your local branch to join)
- Be a graduating high school senior age 19 or younger
Requirements
- Submit your application by 11:59 p.m. on April 30, 2026
- Submissions must include your name, Chevron FCU member number, home address, phone number, email address, name of the post-secondary school you plan to attend, and your college student ID number (if available)
- Submit a thoughtful essay, including a title, addressing the following topic: "What career are you interested in? What do you foresee as the challenges facing that position or industry ten years from now?" (Double-spaced; two pages maximum; minimum 11-point font)
- Include transcript(s) reflecting all four years of high school, including your cumulative unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale (unofficial transcripts will be accepted)
Essays will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Theme – How well did the essay address this year’s topic?
- Structure – Is the essay well-organized?
- Clarity – Is the essay easy to understand?
- Accuracy – Is spelling and grammar correct?
- Sincerity – Does the essay seem sincere and thoughtful?
